Albrecht Ziepert first became involved in music for theater in the early 2000s in his hometown Jena at Theaterhaus Jena. After a long hiatus from theater and a period of focusing on music and audiovisual projects, he eventually returned to theater, increasingly devoting himself to work as a composer and sound designer. He has been working, among others, at Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar, Deutsche Oper Berlin, for Jenaer Philharmonie and the MDR Sinfonieorchester, at Münchner Kammerspiele, Münchner Residenztheater, Schauspiel Leipzig, Schauspielhaus Bochum and Thalia Theater Hamburg. His compositional work is characterized by a holistic approach to the interplay of scene and music. He focuses particularly on incorporating a wide variety of sound sources and combining electronic and classical music.
