About

Albrecht Ziepert first became involved in music for theater in the early 2000s in his hometown Jena at Theaterhaus Jena, during Claudia Bauer’s tenure as artistic director. After a long hiatus from theater and a period of focusing on music and audiovisual projects, he eventually returned to theater, increasingly devoting himself to work as a composer and sound designer. He has been working, among others, at the German National Theater in Weimar, Deutsches Theater Berlin, Deutsche Oper Berlin, for the Jena Philharmonic, and the MDR Symphony Orchestra, at Münchener Kammerspiele, Schauspiel Leipzig, Schauspielhaus Bochum, Thalia Theater Hamburg, and most recently at Münchner Residenztheater. His compositional work is characterized by a holistic approach to the interplay between stage and music. His focus lies in the integration of a wide variety of musical sounds as well as the fusion of electronic and classical music.
